Having previously contributed to the Harry Potter films, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was a great chance for Cinesite to revisit the wizarding world of J.K. Rowling and bring the magic from script to screen.
Sergio Pablos’ studio released these “early style tests” that show the different stages of how the animation is created: rough animation, clean-up, ink-and-paint, and multiple lighting passes.
The Lighting pass is some of the most beautifully intricate work, bringing a sense of depth and dimension to the 2d animation.
“Borrowed Time” is an animated short film, directed by Andrew Coats & Lou Hamou-Lhadj, and produced by Amanda Deering Jones. Music by Academy Award winner Gustavo Santaolalla.
Hamou-Lhadj worked as a character artist on Pixar movies such as Wall-E and Toy Story 3, while Coats worked on Brave and The Good Dinosaur. They made this short in their spare time at Pixar over the past 5 years.
A fantastic film that deserves a greater look at the depth and sheer creative force of the animators and artists that worked so hard to bring this film to life.
NONE is a short film that explores the balance of light and darkness. It has a personal narrative which plays with the notion of finding yourself amidst the noise around you.
